Helps you get it done

I've used Professor Yanno's workbook to outline and write a number of screenplays and can confidently say I wouldn't have gotten them done without it. Not knowing how to begin, and not being able to finish are two of the hardest things in writing and this workbook helps get you through both.

Starting out, every time I wasn't sure where to go next I could turn to the next exercise in the workbook for a slew of questions to kickstart the creative process. And then while writing, whenever I felt I'd hit a roadblock, I found I could return to the questions I'd answered previously and find ways to identify and approach whatever problems I was having. In short, it always kept me writing.

I can't recommend this workbook strongly enough for helping you get the first draft done. It's like having a writing partner sitting beside you.

I was disappointed because I couldn't print it out. Since it's 193 pages long it's hard to view on-line, especially since I consider a workbook something tangible to put your hands on and work from. I will give it another chance. Can't comment on the content yet because I didn't get that far.

About the Author
Professor Neville Stanton holds a Chair in Human-Centred Design. The Ergonomics Society awarded him the Otto Edholm medal in 2001 for his contribution to basic and applied ergonomics research. He is currently Research Professor at Brunel University, West London, UK. Paul Salmon is a Human Factors researcher and is currently working as a Research Fellow at Monash Unversity Accident Research Centre (MUARC) in Melbourne, Australia. Paul has a BSc (Hons) in Sports Science and an MSc in Applied Ergonomics, both from the University of Sunderland in the UK, and is currently studying for a PhD in the area of distributed situation awareness. Dr Guy H. Walker holds a BSc Hons degree in Psychology and a PhD in Human Factors. He has published widely on numerous topics concerned with user centred design and currently works within the DTC HFI consortium at Brunel University, West London, UK. Dr Chris Baber holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology and English from Keele University and a PhD in Speech Technology at Aston University. He is currently Reader in Interactive Systems Design within the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, UK. Dan Jenkins graduated in 2004 from Brunel University with MEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and Design. He is currently a full-time research fellow on the HFI-DTC project at Brunel University, West London, UK, and is studying for a PhD related to the project.

My Review of this book

The authors "collected" a range of Human Factors (HF) methods that can be used in system design and evaluation/ assessment- but they are not easy to apply in a real life problem !!!

The book can be used as a reference check for professional people.

The book provides very little examples associated with the concepts. Moreover, the examples illustrated in the book are disjointed, they are not easy to follow.

It seems to me that the authors have limited work experience in HF - this is a major issue of this book !!

Finally, the book does not provide practical guidance as the concepts presented in the book are airy-fairy.

Best diet ever

This book is the best for people like me. i used to be hungry all the time or each 2 hours but with this diet the hungry is controlled with no pills. also i've been looking a minimum of 1 pound and max.4 pounds per week. so now i can wear new nice clothes but also old ones i was not able to use anymore because of the gained previously weight i used to have. best diet ever.

First published in Venice in 1547, but never before published in English, Dialogue on the Infinity of Love casts a woman rather than a man as the main disputant on the ethics of love.



Sexually liberated and financially independent, Tullia d'Aragona dared to argue that the only moral form of love between woman and man is one that recognizes both the sensual and the spiritual needs of humankind. Declaring sexual drives to be fundamentally irrepressible and blameless, she challenged the Platonic and religious orthodoxy of her time, which condemned all forms of sensual experience, denied the rationality of women, and relegated femininity to the realm of physicality and sin. Human beings, she argued, consist of body and soul, sense and intellect, and honorable love must be based on this real nature.



By exposing the intrinsic misogyny of prevailing theories of love, Aragona vindicates all women, proposing a morality of love that restores them to intellectual and sexual parity with men. Through Aragona's sharp reasoning, her sense of irony and humor, and her renowned linguistic skill, a rare picture unfolds of an intelligent and thoughtful woman fighting sixteenth-century stereotypes of women and sexuality.

As part of a series on important women writers in the period 1300-1700, this booklet provides the first English translation of an important Renaissance dialog on the nature of human love. D'Aragona (1510-56), a wealthy courtesan and poet, daughter of a Roman courtesan and (probably) Cardinal Luigi d'Aragona, argues that human sexual drives are irrepressible and that a moral form of love must recognize both its sensual and spiritual aspects; here she challenges Catholic teaching and the prevailing Platonic philosophy of her day. Russell (European languages, Queens Coll.) and Merry (modern languages, John Cook Univ., Australia) have produced a lucid and lively translation; the useful introduction gives an analysis of the dialog. The introduction is the thing

The introduction to this volume, from the Other Voice series out of the University of Chicago Press, by Rinaldina Russell is exceptionally good. It is helpful in tracing the path of Tullia d'Aragona's education that took her to the understanding that allowed for the writing of this tract, and it is a tract, a philosophical tract, argued in the most proper dialogic method with Tullia as the antagonist.

The argument is stated: "Is there love within limits?" While this argument deals with the subject, love, it is not really about love. Varchi, the protagonist of this argument, maunders around in his "questio" dialogic method, in a manner that I kept thinking of as Renaissance scholasticism, with the incessant splitting of hairs, carping about the meanings and comparative meanings of words used in the dialogue.

Footnotes in the book were a must and were handled well, giving the reader all she needed to prevent confusion in the narrative and giving edification and reminders of the philosophical questions implied and their premises. The purpose is not to solve the question, or come to an answer, but to investigate, peruse, belabor, and fragment in the best dialogic manner. This disassembly accomplished, the true cleverness in the arguments comes in one-up-manship, catching the other out in misspeaking, and revealing the true nature of love, which is its difficulty.

The book is an easy read, straight to the point

The book is an easy read, straight to the point, and provides a thorough and in in depth review enough to cover the nephrology board material. Since I started using the book, it also really improved my clinical performance reflected on inpatient consults and outpatient clinic. All complicated cases I have encountered, had an answer and explanation in the book which made me a better nephrologist. The book provides enough pathophysiology making clinical relevance more understandable, minimizing memorizing concepts. I recommend this excellent book to every nephrology fellow, and nephrologist as well.
